Personal Care 

Personal care is available for any daily tasks you may need support with, such as bathing, showering, applying creams and lotions, dressing and toileting, all in the comfort of your own home.

Working to your regular routines, and ensuring that support is tailored to your specific requirements, a fully trained carer or support worker offers discreet and professional personal care in the way that’s most comfortable to you.

We believe in the importance of a continuous service and the same familiar faces, especially when it comes to personal care. Speak to us to find out more about how we can support you or a loved one.

What is personal care service?

Personal care is a broad term used to refer to supporting with personal hygiene and toileting, along with dressing and maintaining your personal appearance.

It can cover, but is not limited to:

  • Bathing and showering, including bed-baths
  • Applying lotions and creams as required
  • Dressing and getting ready for bed
  • Oral hygiene
  • Applying make-up, and hair care
  • Support with shaving
  • Helping you to the toilet, including using a commode or bed pan
  • Changing continence pads, and intimate hygiene
  • Support moving position in bed, to stretch and prevent bed sores
  • Changing or maintaining a stoma or catheter bag, or other form of clinical intervention
  • Food prep and breakfast
  • Assisting with and administration of medication
  • PEG feeding

The beauty of a care plan is that we tailor it to your own needs to benefit and enhance your well-being in order to provide an element of independence in the comfort of your own home.

Our health care staff is trained extensively in order to identify and enhance your well-being. We provide a shadowing programme in order to enable us to enhance the provision of care to suit your needs. Our staff understand the importance of enabling your dignity and independence at all times.

As White Bird Care and Nursing Agency staff are trained to provide personal care we recognise that, there are elements of your personal care you wish to care for yourself and as such, our staff recognise the importance of enabling you to be as independent as possible.

Arranging support for a loved one

Personal care is as it sounds personal. We recognise this to be an awkward moment for a loved one, relative or friend to provide the necessary care as it can sometimes change a relationship between two people. This is where White Bird Care and Nursing Agency health care staff come in to provide that relief needed in order to enhance the well-being of the service user.

Our staff won’t just be a care worker coming in and out of the house, they become a friendly face, a continuous face and an extra source of support for yourself and the service user. 

Support with PEG feeding, a stoma, catheter or other form of clinical intervention

Having a or needing help with PEG feeding, stoma or catheter doesn’t mean that you can’t live independently and comfortably at home. White Bird Care and Nursing Agency staff are trained to be able to provide the necessary support with such tasks in order to enhance your independence and well-being.

It can be distressing when accidents happen, but your carer will make sure that you’re comfortable. They’ll help with changing clothes and personal hygiene where required with dignity and respect for your person, as we believe in helping other be as independent as possible in the comfort of their own home.
